One of the strengths of this community is that we come together with different values, cultures, and backgrounds, to find and share support as we work toward personal well-being. Please see below the Community Guidelines that we ask all participants to adhere to when sharing space during our meetings and on the WEconnect Discord. Thank you for helping us to create a supportive environment where all are welcome.
- There is no obligation to share or to have your video or audio enabled. Feel free to listen in if that is the support you’re here for. Just listening to what is being shared also has great value by itself.
- When offering support or feedback regarding another person's share please ask permission and wait until you get a yes response from the reaction tool or a thumbs up. If you do not get a response please refrain from sharing feedback. When providing feedback, focus on strengths and be supportive without judgment.
- Intentionally harmful language or behavior toward anyone in our community will not be tolerated and will lead to immediate removal from the meeting. This includes but isn’t limited to, any expressions of racism, sexism, transphobia, gender discrimination, classism, or other hostile or intentionally stigmatizing remarks. We ask everyone to help maintain a supportive and respectful environment.
- Please be mindful when sharing in this space, share from your own experience, and avoid expressing things in a graphic manner that could potentially be activating for others. We understand that discomfort may arise, and we encourage everyone to take care of themselves and take breaks if needed.
- Commenting on anyone else’s appearance is inappropriate, even if it is intended as a compliment.
- We encourage everyone to practice patience and tolerance and to keep an open mind, as everyone is in a different place in their lives. If you disagree with someone, be respectful.
- Be mindful of the amount of time you are speaking to give other participants the opportunity to speak.
- Recognize that the meeting hosts are also an integral part of our community as they work to hold a supportive space.
- Be mindful of only using emoji reactions in a supportive way.
- Do not give medical advice.
- Turn your video off if you are smoking, vaping, eating or preparing food, or are shirtless. If your video gets turned off, you can request to have it turned back on when you are done.
- Recording information or images during the meeting is strictly prohibited.
- The specialty meetings are for members of the identified community. We ask that you help us to hold the spaces for those who need it, so they can get the support they are looking for.
- Observers are welcome to join our support groups, we do however ask that you refrain from joining our Specialty meetings unless you are a member of the community that the meeting is supporting.
- We are committed to making this a supportive space for all community members. If you have concerns or feedback about the meetings, please reach out to the co-host and/or email support@wec.health
